Statements:
Sherwood has received approximately $75,000 in payments for assessments since the last board meeting.
To Date:
Assessments $287,483.32
Special Assessments ($100) $29,600.00
Correspondence:
I received a letter from John and Sandy Jacobson regarding the decision that was made for their request for a variance. A copy of the letter was included in the Board Member’s packet.
Phase II of the Electrical Upgrade:
The upgrade was started on April 22 and will be completed by approximately
May 19, 2004. At that time Knox Electric will have most of the job done. Mille Lacs Electric needs to install a transformer before Knox Electric can make the switch over. This should happen within the next week.
Electrical Concerns in Banbury:
A couple of owner’s have expressed concern about the upgrade in Banbury. They have been monitoring the draw of amps using a device they purchased themselves. Their findings show a significant drop when several appliances are being used together. Tim had Brian from Knox Electric check the wires and he saw a difference also. Tim came up with a plan to make a new wire run between their lots to repair this problem.
Clubhouse:
Most of our time has been spent getting the store and kitchen ready for business. Ice Cream went on sale last night and the store is now stocked. Take a look at the new clothing up for sale.
25th Anniversary T-shirts have been ordered. We’re using the slogan:
Sherwood Forest
25 years
Building Family Traditions
Fines:
No fines were issued in March/April.
Rules:
Contacted Aitkin County Environmental Department regarding the pumping agreement. A copy of the response is in each folder. Essential they state this rule has been in effect for a long time. They just didn’t have the resources to pursue it. They now have enough staff and they’re trying to update records.
What they request from us is to make new owners aware of this agreement. So my proposal is to put them in the new owner packets and we have changed the notice that Jerry Grady put out to prospective lot owners making them aware of this.
She did state that no agreement is needed for drain fields since they are annually inspected, but if we install a holding tank we would need to submit an agreement.
Greg Westerland will be in sometime next week to start work.
Questions:
What is the reason an owner cannot have two 225-gallon septic tanks when it’s allowed to have a 500-gallon?
37 loads of Class 5 have been dumped on the roads. We will have them graded next week leaving time for the volunteers to spread the Calcium Chloride before Memorial Day.
The pool is on hold pending contact with Bill from Stoneage Pools. There was a miscommunication that caused him not to come when he originally wanted and now we haven’t heard from him in two weeks despite many messages being left.
This project may have to wait until fall if we don’t hear from him by Monday.
James Stuart from Aitkin, who has helped Sherwood out in the past as our attorney, is retiring. He stopped in the Clubhouse to tell me in person and to deliver the acceptance from the Minnesota Department of Commerce allowing Sherwood to continue to sell real estate. He has given me a recommendation from Aitkin as a replacement.
The Schoneke sign will NOT be ready for the annual meeting. This presentation will have to be on the Fourth of July.
Maintenance marked L110 to make prospective buyers aware that both lots are not included when this lot is auctioned.
Had drains, toilets and urinals in all comfort stations augered to prevent plugged drains.
Started last night posting guards at the gate. We had one incident of fighting and the guests were asked to leave the forest. They complied.
If the Board hasn’t heard yet, Linda Augustson has given her two-week notice, last day being May 22. She has agreed to help out with the Annual Meeting.
