Sherwood Forest Owner’s Association

June 2004 Board Meeting

June 19, 2004

Significant Expenses or Increase in Revenue:

Revenue Increases:

The Kitchen has brought in a total of $2,230 in sales (less expenses) for the month of May.  This total reflects Memorial Day Weekend sales.

Only soft serve was sold from mid-May to Memorial Day Weekend.  We started selling meals on Memorial Day Weekend.

Expenses:

Mille Lacs Electric

$4,577

Garrison Disposal

$538

Federated Propane

$939

Class 5 for roads

$4,515

Cannock Chase Electrical Upgrade

$9,768

Floor for Maintenance Bldg

Statements:

Sherwood has received approximately $32,065 since the last Board meeting $4,500 of which was for the Special Assessment.

Correspondence:

Letters were sent to two owners for having For Sale signs posted on their lot.  One letter was sent to an owner having more than one trailer on their lot.

Verbally contacted an owner regarding having a Rubber Maid Shed.

Verbally contacted an owner regarding having a boom truck located on his lot.

Phase II of the Electrical Upgrade:

Knox Electric is waiting for Mille Lacs Electric to install the transformer.

There has been a concern voiced by the owner of the lot that will hold the transformer.    Phone calls have been exchanged but no solution has been found.  Tim and I found a stake and measured to see if placement was within Sherwood’s easement and it is.  We now need to know if we should continue with the original plan of action despite the owner’s feelings, or what the next step should be.

Fines:

No fines were issued in May/June.

Rules:

The amendments to the By-Laws are now being attached to the copies of the original

By-Laws and being distributed to all new lot owners.  We also have copies available in the Clubhouse and have put notice in the Weekender for owners to pick up a copy.

Nottingham and Canterbury West

Greg Westerland will be in sometime next week to start work.

Schoenike Drive

Tim had Dave Harris look at the water running down this road.  His suggestion is to lay 200’ of 4” PVC Pipe.  He is concerned that a plastic culvert would get crushed by traffic and a metal culvert does not come in 4”.  Since there isn’t a big water supply that gets shipped out at one time, PVC would be fine.

Approximate cost will be $500.

Miscellaneous

The pool contract has been cancelled via a registered letter sent to Stoneage Pools.

We’ll try this process again during late summer.

We had the floor poured for the Maintenance Bldg.  Work was done by Bare Masonery.

We started getting bids on material for finishing the inside of the Maintenance Building.  Do I need the Board’s Approval to OK funds for this project?

The Workman’s Comp claim has officially come to an end as of June 17, 2004.

We would like to leave the old Maintenance Building standing for the time being.  We have decided to use this building for storing of the archives for accessibility and use the space for a break room for the employees.  We will need the Board’s OK to proceed.
